The Nucleus of Science
The atom is perceived as mysterious and intimidating, intuitively associated with "nuclear weapons". The Nuclear Science exhibition is designed to offer access into the secrets of atomic energy, presenting its benefits and various uses, while explaining the concepts that have for too long been the knowledge of researchers and scientists only.
We are pleased to be able to invite you to the only exhibition regarding this subject in all of Israel, in cooperation with the Israel Atomic Energy Commission.
The Nucleaus of Science exhibition focuses on several key issues:
The exhibition focuses on several key issues:
What is an atom? - Basic explanation of atoms and their structure
Building Blocks - internalizing the idea that atoms are built from a number of different fundamental particles, while understanding that minor differences in amounts of elementary particles completely change materials.
Benefits of Radiation - Imparting the knowledge regarding the different types of radiation and its uses.
The Radiation around us - Demonstrating real radiation emission that we see every day from a number of physical materials.
Chain Reaction - Understanding and showing the distinction between a controlled response and an uncontrolled reaction.
Nuclear Core - Peering into the reactor core and understanding how a nuclear reactor works and the mechanisms of its control and under its control.
Power Plants - Familiarity with power-plants for energy production methods.
Manipulators - Experience operating manipulators and understanding their use and their importance.
Medical Applications - Familiarity with nuclear science and medical applications including: X-rays, markers and radiation.
History - Learning about atomic pioneers and major events in the history of the field and a corresponding presentation of the historical timeline in terms of characters, technologies, achievements and significant events.
